Fostering entrepreneurship and innovation among students, in association with the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC).
Jorhat Kendriya Mahavidyalaya, Jorhat, with an aim of fostering entrepreneurship initiatives among students, has established the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) in association with the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC) in the year 2021. The role of IIC is to identify and nurture technology-based innovative startups.
IIC at JKM, Jorhat plans and conducts various innovation and entrepreneurship–related activities such as periodic workshops, seminars, and interactions with entrepreneurs, investors and professionals, while building a mentor pool for student innovators. This is expected to bring outcomes such as successful innovative projects carried out by the institution’s faculty and students. Hackathons, idea competitions and other mini-challenges are among the other programmes organised by IIC.

Building a mechanism to identify and support student-led start-ups.
Preparing the institute for the Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements.
Establishing a functional ecosystem for scouting and pre-incubating ideas.
