Dr Rajen Borah has been serving as associate Professor & Head of the department of Sociology in Jorhat Kendriya Mahavidyalaya. After obtaining postgraduate degree in Sociology securing 1^st class 1^st from Dibrugarh University, he had joined in the service in the year 1996. Dibrugarh University awarded him the prestigious Doctorate Degree in the year 2008. In the later years, he has also obtained MSW degree with first class from IASE Open University and he is also a supervisor of M. Phil & M.A students of Indira Gandhi Open University, Binayak Mission University, Krishna Kanta Handique State Open University and the Students of Sociology Department, Jorhat Kendriya Mahavidyalaya. He has been also involved in research projects financed by U.G.C. Dr. Borah is also author(Co) of eight (8) nos. of text Books on Honours and General in Sociology subject and these books are (i) Odyogik Samajtattwa Aru Sramik Kalyan, (ii) Bharatiya Somaj Praddhati, (iii) Udyogor Samajtattwa, (iv) Bharatar Samajtattwa, (v) Porial Aru Atmeeyota, (vi) Dharmar Samajtattwa, (vii) Bharatiya Samaj : Drishyapat Aru Bastav Swarup, (viii) Unnayanar Punarchintan (ix) Bharatiya Samajtattik Parampara (x) Dharma Aru Samaj (xi) Samajik Starikaran.

       Besides, Dr Rajen Borah has already presented more than thirty (3o) nos. of research papers in the various National as well as International seminars. Apart from these, several of his research papers have been published in research journals and books having ISSN as well as ISBN. He currently serves as a member of Board of studies, Dibrugarh University, co-ordinator, Research Consultancy and Extension NAAC and Research Project Expert Committee JKM. Moreover, he has been serving at various portfolios within and outside the college.
