Dr. Pinky Saikia

Biography

Dr. Pinky Saikia joined this college on 2nd August 2004. She has completed M.A. from Gauhati University in 2003 and qualified NET in the same year. She has acquired Ph. D from Dibrugarh University in 2016. The topic of her research was ‘Birendra Kumar  Bhattacharyyar Chuti galpat Samj chentana aru Manabatabad’. Her areas of interest are Assamese language and Assamese Literature.
She is also a short-story writer. Her name may be listed among the burgeoning short-story
writers of the state. Her short-stories have been published in reputed journals like “Xatxori” and
magazines like “Xadin” and “Janambhumi”. A compilation of her stories, titled Andhar Ratir Gan has
been published in the year 2012. One of her short stories has been selected for translation in odia
language and has been published recently by Odia Sahitya Academy.
