BOTANY:
A
bachelor's of science in botany is a three-year undergraduate plant science
programme that focuses on scientifically studying the life of plants. This
course covers both practical and theoretical aspects of plant biology. Botany
is divided into several subfields that cover everything from unicellular plants
to advanced courses like biotechnology. Our mission is to provide an excellent
environment for learning in botany and plant sciences, as well as to produce
graduates with the skills needed to fulfill their roles in modern society.
The department of Botany was
established in Jorhat Kendriya
Mahavidyalaya in the year 1992, imparting education to the students of higher
secondary level initially with the great effort of the founder faculty members
Mrs. Sandhya Devi and Mr. Binanda Dutta. Gradually Botany as a core subject in
degree level was started from the year 1995 and as a major subject from the
year 1997.
To impart quality education to the students in the field of Botany.
To strive for an excellent environment for learning and research in Botany and to produce graduates equipped with skills necessary to fulfill their role in contemporary society.
To develop a strong foundation in fundamental science for scientific understanding.
