About the Department

 The department of Mathematics in Jorhat Kendriya Mahavidyalaya came to existence a along with the introduction of Science stream in the year 1992, with the first batch of students in Higher Secondary level. The UG courses (General) was introduced in the college from  the academic session 1995-96 and major course was commenced in 2005 with one student. The strong founding faculty members of the department whose dedication and contribution flourised the department were Sri Mohendra  Bora , M.Sc. and Sri Bijit Bora , M. Sc. At present there are three faculty members in the department. The department offers honours and nonhonours  courses in regular mode at UG level. Assignments, Seminars and group discussion are organized by the department time to time . Class test, remedial classes, mentoring and student centric activities are arranged at regular intervals to bring out the best in students

Vision:  To expedite knowledge of Mathematics , its analytical and logical thinking among students to promote it as an important area. 
Mission: To make student /to promote in their chosen professions and to make them as productive citizen.
